Transforming a blank canvas into an extraordinary outdoor sanctuary, our client was wanting to createt a sophisticated blend of relaxation and entertaining spaces. The vision was to create an oasis that celebrates natural materials and native flora, allowing her to enjoy a resort-like experience right in her own backyard.
At the heart of the landscape lies an exquisite natural slate patio, elegantly shaded by Japanese Maple, Mock Orange, and Dogwood trees, along with a selection of lower-growing companion plants. Accented by refined natural basalt borders, this patio seamlessly integrates with a picturesque small waterfall, enhancing the serene ambiance.
To infuse the garden with tranquility, we designed a bespoke waterfall that cascades gently, providing a soothing soundtrack throughout the space. This feature transforms the suburban environment into a peaceful retreat, inviting relaxation and reflection.
A gracefully curving path of blue crushed stone meanders through lush garden beds of native plants, guiding guests around the waterfall and patio areas. This thoughtfully designed path ensures easy access to the client’s tool shed and hobby garden, blending practicality with elegance.
Highlighting the beauty of native flora while accommodating the client’s existing plant collection, we created a series of meticulously designed garden beds in both the backyard and along the front driveway. These beds harmonize with a lush clover and grass blend, fostering a vibrant ecosystem that attracts pollinators and enhances the overall landscape.
Our client initially envisioned a paver patio beneath the existing upper deck. We selected a premium Belgard product with a sophisticated granite finish, expertly tying together the home’s blue tones with the natural hues of the waterfall and flagstone. The front stoop features elegant 2×2 Cortez Slabs, while the back patio showcases a distinctive pinwheel pattern, delivering unique design elements that maintain a cohesive aesthetic.
To address the landscaping challenges of the property, we constructed a 20-foot Allan Block retaining wall, providing a level surface for the HVAC unit. Finished with adhered caps, this feature ensures seamless access to the side of the house through a refined concrete-mounted gate and fence.
Complementing the primary design elements, we incorporated three-foot natural boulders to enhance various garden beds, coordinated the hydroseeding of a premium grass/micro clover blend, constructed a stylish manufactured shed, and added retractable shades in front of the backyard paver patio for added luxury.
